The Kingdom of God : Director: Andrea Iannetta | Genre: Drama | Produced In: 2008
Synopsis: A Brahmin, a Catholic priest, a Rabbi and a Muslim priest interact in a satirical and abstract space. Each one professes his own religion, but his own doctrinal principle seems to contradict those of others. There is a clear conflict. A skeleton, as a symbol of death, rises from the earth, to indicate the difficult moment of this confrontation. Is there any possibility for a higher resolution? Through the mystical contribution of music and dance we can achieve a sense of unity, all religions become one, and we find a way to overcome this conflict. But in today’s world, the commercialization of tradition and the power of money seem to relegate religions to a secondary level. In the global culture, they seem to become nothing more than folkloristic decorations. So, what space will be given to religions in the society of the third millennium? Are they destined to be museum objects in tomorrow’s world?
