Nino Fidencio de Roma a Espinazo : Director: Juan Farre |
Genre: Documentary | Produced In: 2008
Synopsis: This documentary gives you an insight into the crisis undergone by the Catholic Church as well as by an abandoned society, poor and marginal, that chose a religion that perfectly fits into their needs and beliefs. Niño Fidencio was a healer who lived his life taking care of the ill in the recondite town of the northeastern desert called Espinazo, Nuevo León. With thousands of followers, some of whom are still living, he has already been given the status of a miraculous saint; an exceptional human being, a God-send for treatment and comfort. When Fidencio died in 1938, a growing religion began to form, that with time, expanded and gained strength. Nowadays, there are thousands of Fidencistas scattered around the country.
