Synopsis:
"Brother Yusef" is Yusef Lateef, one of jazz’s living legends who worked alongside icons of his genre such as John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus and Cannonball Adderly. At the age of 85, he still plays his saxophone and lives a quiet life in Massachusetts in a small wooden house surrounded by the forest. It sounds like something out of a fairytale and the film-makers Nicolas Humbert and Werner Penzel were only too aware of the magical "gift" of being able to film such an enigmatic and influential jazz legend.
