Director: David Wright | Producer: David Wright
Focus Years: 2008 | Country: Thailand
Synopsis:
This experimental film is an introspective look into the chaos of traveling in the global age. It highlights the frantic pace of these two large Asian cities for a traveler and the peace and tranquility that nature can provide in the most unusual places, whilst in these chaotic metropolitan environments. These environments are juxtaposed against each other to represent the alternate realities existing in the media generated minds of this generation. The garden with the fishpond is a metaphor for our longing to return the womb. The tuk-tuk ride represents the overload of information we are bombarded with in today's world and the confusion it causes within our minds. The Nam Jun Bak exhibition shows how artists of the past saw our future and portrayed it to the world in their art. The fish eye editing was used to indicate the narrowing of the communal psyche in the present age.
