We can right the wrongs, modeled on the way that the apartheid regime of South Africa was dismantled. WE ARE CHANGE. Everything changes, and we CAN change this word for the better. Israel must be transformed into Palestine-Israel, and the Palestinian refugees must be allowed their inalienable Right to Return as equals and with reparations. It is their right according to International Laws and UN Resolutions, as well as the majority of world opinion. It's also consistent with American and true Christian values of equal rights for all. During my early college years, 1969 and 1970, at Hofstra University in New York (before I transferred to Massachusetts College of Art), I was actively protesting the Viet Nam war. The US abandoned that immoral war.

In the late 1990s, independently, I was very active in the campaign to save San Ignacio Lagoon in Baja Mexico from being ruined with a salt mine that Mitsubishi wanted to co-build with the government of Mexico. I had gone down to San Ignacio Lagoon with a group from Baja Expeditons, and for 5 glorious days, enjoyed patting the tips of the giant Gray Whales' snouts and that of their offspring. Gray Whales migrate there every year from Alaskan waters, as they have for thousands of years, to give birth to their baby whales in the pristine San Ignacio Lagoon. I was working at a printing company, and my boss gave me a good price on printing up postcards which I designed and were pre-printed with the addresses of the top decision-makers at Mitsubishi and in the Mexican government. I gave these postcards out to everyone and gave stacks to others to distribute as well. Most people were pretty receptive to this cause. Mr. James Brumm, the top PR executive at Mitsubishi, actually called me and we had several interesting conversations and written exchanges. I am happy to say that I believe I helped to play a significant role in persuading Mitsubishi to abandon their plans to build that salt factory in San Ignacio Lagoon.

Then, in 2000, I started to learn the facts about how Israel and Zionist Jewish extremists have been stealing Palestinian land for a Jewish state ever since even before the creation of Israel in 1948. It all started by listening to KPFA, a progressive radio station in Berkeley, California, known the birthplace of Free Speech. I started to learn more about the history by asking people questions and then later I got to be quite the expert at surfing the internet to learn a great deal of history about the conflict from various websites.

Finally, in 2001, after the 9-11 attacks, which I believe were an inside job with the help of rogue elements of the Israeli government, I really intensified my quest for knowledge. One of the biggest eye-openers was watching the slide show "Face of the Occupation", about the Israeli occupation of Palestine, by Penny Rosenwasser, a Jewish peace activist, and a founder of the Middle East Children's Alliance. It was while watching that slide show at La Pena, in Berkeley, that I got the idea to make my first documentary "Truth: Exposing Israeli Apartheid", which was premiered also at La Pena in 2003.

I also had postcards printed up advocating the One-Democratic-State Solution as the best solution for Palestine-Israel, which is consistent with our American and Christian values of equal rights for all regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender. These postcards were pre-addressed to the President, Senators and Congresspeople. I also handed them out extensively to others to sign and send them in.

Then, I made three more documentaries: "Neturei Karta: Jews Against Zionism" and "Rosa Remembers Palestine", also in 2003, and finally I made "Syria: Land of Friendly People and Hidden Treasure" in 2004.

I am grateful to Culture Unplugged for including my films on their website to allow a greater access to all who are interested in achieving justice, liberty and equal rights for the Palestinian people and other people in the Middle East who are caught up in the immoral wars, which I hope will end soon, just as the Viet Nam War ended, forced segregation in the US was ended and apartheid in South Africa was ended. Now it's time to apply the exact same principles to Israel-Palestine-- no double standards allowed!
