Robert Lendrum


Bee Man is a collaboration between Robert Lendrum, Morris Lum and Drew Ferguson.

Bee Man has screened at Dawson City International Short Film Festival, the National Screen Institute Online Film Festival, Yukon Film Society: Firehall Films Monthly Screening series in Whitehorse, Planet in Focus Film Festival in Toronto, Flickerfest Australian International Short Film Festival, San Francisco Green Film Festival, and Saskatoon Environmental Film Festival. It has also screened in Windsor, Ontario as part of PIF's Educational Series (partnered with the Ontario Teachers' Federation) and in a screening by SFGFF at San Francisco's Earth Day ceremonies. In 2010, Bee Man won the A&E Short Filmmaker Award at the NSI.

Synopsis:
Robert Ireland - a beekeeper living outside Shelburne, Ontario - has a complex relationship with bees. His family has been in the apiary business for three generations, he practices apitherapy, he survived a near-death attack with bees, and he consumes them to balance his immune system. Not only are bees his livelihood, they also help keep him alive. This documentary portrait presents a window into Robert’s past risky encounters with bees and how he now counts on them for his health.
