Synopsis:
Salmon Wars is a documentary about the spread into new coastal areas of ill-regulated, polluting finfish aquaculture in the open ocean. It was created to provide opponents of open net-pen aquaculture in Nova Scotia with information they could use in persuading the public to reject this expansion. Though local in focus, the film draws on similar experiences from all over the world. It has made salmon farming a significant issue in Nova Scotia politics.
