In order to express concisely the salient feature of Assam a term is often is used that is " land of red river and blue hills". The mighty Brahmaputra become reddish when sun rises. Brahmaputra- its waves have given life to the flora and fauna of Assam ; made its soil fertile and inspired thousands of poets and artists. But ..has our Brahmaputra been gradually turning in to red with all the killings and bloodshed? Has it turned our artists numb to draw nothing but the red river.
