Synopsis:
This piece follows the story of a girl who was naive enough to trust someone who abused her and then abandoned her. It shows how the experience affected the victim, and how she heals her wounds and moves on. The visuals are accompanied by her voice, talking to her abuser and expressing her feelings towards him. It is about closure and purification of the soul. It is a symbolic artistic film meant to disturb and move its audience to create empathy for the victim but also to create an understanding for the abuser. Themes include rape of the body, the psyche and soul, as well as betrayal and strength. The general message of the piece is that even if you go through a painful experience making you feel like life is not worth living, your heart can heal and the human spirit can bounce back. "It is a very honest portrayal of a true story. I want to share my story with other victims and show them that you can fight through the abuse and get your power back, like I did with this film." -Korinna McRobert
