Synopsis:
This is a story about growing up, about conflicts that go beyond the superficial to the subliminal. "Silence Radio" is the story of a fundamental disagreement between a father and a son over the trifling matter concerning an old radio in the house. The father wants to listen to the radio all the time, but the son cannot stand it for a single moment. The mother is not sure if she would be happier with the radio or without it! Meanwhile, oblivious of the effect it is having on the lives of its listeners, the radio goes on belching nonstop its news and views and music and quizzes … because it is only a machine, and not a judge of family disputes. The son starts frequenting the sea shore in his quest for silence. The father continues to twist and turn the knobs to extract a maximum of sound. The poor mother makes one more effort to reconcile the differences, but it is too late.... And what will become of the radio?
