Childhood is the most impressionable period of life. Any trauma suffered in those formative years can scar a child's future. Child sexual abuse is one of them. According to the National Study on Child Abuse by the Ministry for Women and Child Development in 2007, one out of every two children has experienced some or the other form of sexual abuse. "Speak Up! It's Not Your Fault!" is the story of Harish Iyer, Deepika Lal and the sexual abuse they experienced as children. They have lived through the ordeal and have chosen to be vocal about it. Unlike Harish and Deepika, many others suffer because they are unable to communicate their pain to their families. This tabooed issue lacks effective laws. The documentary wishes to make the parents understand that it's not the kid's fault if he or she is abused, and encourage parents and survivors to come out of the closet and speak up!
