                    Synopsis:
The Ministry of Children and Family Development in British Columbia provides foster care for children from birth to the age of 19. But when they reach their 19th birthday, the parental role of the government finishes abruptly – even though young people may not yet be ready for independent living. This automatic termination of support is known as “aging out.†
Violet-Rose Pharoah has been in foster care for several years. Recently she started a blog that allows individuals, who were in care to share their experiences. The blog provides children in care, and youth who are leaving care with emotional support. Violet-Rose remembers how lonely she herself felt when she left care and she is aware that many youth feel the same way today. With this blog, she hopes to communicate to the children and youngsters that they are not alone.
