Story of Burqa is a documentary by Afghan-Canadian filmmaker Brishkay Ahmed exploring the origin and future of burqa - the garment, sadly, tied to the image of Afghanistan. Afghanistan is more than the nation of this blue garment and its horrors. In fact, it is not the creator of the burqa. But many people, inside or outside Afghanistan, are unaware of this.
Brishkay Ahmed’s confusion about the status of this garment, and the possibility of its return, is the motivation behind the journey back to her homeland Afghanistan. But it is the unusual and shocking information shared that pushes her down the winding rabbit hole.
