Pizzet - Maybe The Last Year| 51mins
Director: Ivo Zen | Producer: Ivo Zen
Focus Years: 2004 | Country: Switzerland
Synopsis:
"Pizzet" means a piece of land, neither too big nor too small. It’s with these words that Tumasch explains the name of his farm, situated in Val Müstair in the Grison mountains. Eleven acres are too little for modern farming. Tumasch and his wife Antonetta spent their whole life in this valley, taking care of the animals and of their land. When asked whether this was going to be the last year, they would take the cows up the mountain, they hesitate, exchange looks, as if the other should know the answer. Have they ever wanted to do something else? Leave the country like their son, who lives in Canada? Through the four seasons, the thoughts of this couple of farmers lead to a reflexion on the relationships we have with the places of our origins.
