Synopsis:
A documentary about British sculptor, Alan Thornhill, this film is a tribute to a timeless approach to creativity and to the strength of the human spirit. By nature an improviser, Thornhill devised a way of working which embraced spontaneity and the unforeseen. This approach inspired students and produced a body of challenging work drawn from personal and shared concerns of the late 20th century, including pacifism.
Directed by his daughter, this is a rare chance to gain insight into the life and working processes of an accomplished artist and extraordinary man, whose work is non-conceptual and devoid of sophisticated technologies.
