Synopsis:
Nasbandi tells the stories of four women (Sarita, Pushpa, Sundara Devi, and Roopa) in a remote village in Uttarakhand, India, as they reflect on their decisions to get - or not get - sterilized. Through these narratives, the documentary explores the larger issues surrounding India’s family planning policy, such as pervasive gender inequality, and how the policy affects the women it is designed to reach.
