The Raging Grannies Anti Occupation Club| 1hr : 28mins
Director: Iwajla Klinke | Producer: Lida Perin
Focus Years: 2006 | Country: Germany
Synopsis:
All across Israel, the film accompanies 76-year old Hava and her friends.
As Raging Grannies, the women make revolutionary texts and music, protest in front of checkpoints or drive under their own steam to the occupied areas to meet formerly imprisoned Palestinians. Once a Zionist and Soldier of the Haganah, Hava fights today for release of all political prisoners in Israel.
Pnina, aged 82 and since the end of the 1930s active in the communist movement, drives to the occupied areas weekly, together with a mobile team of physicians. Tamar, 79, began her new life as a lawyer at the age of 60, and since then, she has represented Palestinian prisoners at Israeli military courts.
Hava's husband Jakov develops micro time machines, whose small inhabitants, tiny trolls, advance to representatives of a very special theory of occupation and displacement.
A film not only on the Israeli occupation policy, but above all, on those who once made it real and today fight against it with all their means, even if they are in their eighties.
