Precious Guru is a feature-length documentary that explores the living legacy of Guru Rinpoche, the Second Buddha and precious teacher of the Himalayan people. Beneath his tale of fabulous exploits, beautiful lovers, and magical powers, lies a radically-relevant truth: the darker the times, the greater the potential for transformation.
Precious Guru follows the arc of Guru Rinpoche's Sacred Biography, from his immaculate birth on a lotus; to his taming and subduing of Tibet's demons in order to establish Buddhism on the Tibetan plateau; to the central role of his consort, Princess Yeshe Tsogyal in the dissemination of his teachings. The film also explores his enduring presence, including the timeless Power Sites of the Himalaya, the sacred terma treasures still buried across the region, and the transformative practices that he and Yeshe Tsogyal established for future generations.
