Out Here in the Fields: The Field on Beach Lane| 14mins
Director: Alec Hirschfeld | Producer: Alec Hirschfeld
Focus Years: 2010 | Country: United States
Synopsis:
“The Field on Beach Lane†is part of a working farm located within walking distance of a prime Atlantic Ocean beach. It was nearly sold for development. The Peconic Land Trust facilitated an arrangement between the Town of East Hampton, farmer Andy Babinski and a group of neighboring landowners, to conserve this farm through a purchase of development rights. Through the voices of Andy, his son Bill, neighbors Toni Ross and Alex Weil, and Peconic Land Trust’s Rebecca Chapman, we learn how a personal connection to land motivated a dramatic preservation project.
