Synopsis:
"Through the Corner of His Eyes" documents moments in the life of the renowned scholar, teacher and yogi, Swami Venkatesananda during a yearly visit to his ashram yoga-centre in Fremantle WA some months before his death in 1982. Swami Venkatesananda exemplifies the "Integral Yoga" of his revolutionary guru Swami Sivananda who broke down the separation between yoga pathways and taught that seekers needed to practice all aspects of yoga in their daily life to develop fully. Venkatesa inquires intellectually, emotionally, physically, morally and spiritually and sketches his early life and sixteen years of "blissful training" with his Master in his ashram in Hrishikesh. He discusses devotional practice and ritual, engages in yoga postures and pranayama, in study and chant, lectures on "Yoga and Christianity" and in this documentary moves and talks freely, amusingly and lovingly with all around him.
