Painter Laura Harris has deep roots on magnificent Vancouver Island in British Columbia. It was in this place that she developed her voice as an artist and continues to evolve creatively. Here, where the human spirit is intertwined with ocean and sky and land, she finds herself immersed in such ineffable beauty as to often be left in tears. It is on canvas where she both captures place as an abstraction and transcends it, where her joyfulness finds the vivid expression that words cannot achieve, and where the many admirers of her paintings can commune in the kinds of universal understanding for which words simply are not needed. As much as words may fall short, this short documentary opens a window onto the person as she grapples to express her awe at the interconnectedness that forms the foundation of life.
