Synopsis:
From outward appearances, Roger Triffo seemed to have everything going for him. In the 1970s, he had a house in the suburbs, a wife, four children and a university degree. Twenty years later he has been in prison more times than he cares to recall. In 1985, he violently attacked his elderly mother with a hammer which led to a ten year stay in a high security mental institution. A powerful and compelling piece, Dad traces Roger's life from a successful family man to a street person convicted of attempting to murder his own mother. In this documentary, Roger is confronted by his son who is hoping to get answers to questions that have haunted him most of his life. This documentary was a very personal journey for director, Chris Triffo, who explores the disintegration of his own father's life.
