The film traces the life of Royal Photographer Ramesh Shukla, who came to UAE almost 40 years ago, in the early times of the crucial states in the Persian gulf. Steadily he established excellent rapport with the locals, Dubai was then becoming a hub for trading and a long history of goods being imported from India. Initially an adventure and later to become his second home, Shukla, an ace photographer documented the changing face of UAE, and especially Dubai, more than a hundred thousand photographs, black and white and color depict the history of the UAE, his works adorn the museums, libraries, galleries and the delegations visiting UAE cannot miss his pictures. Shukla in this documentary opens his heart and shares some powerful moments with his mother, wife, son and local friends, and we see him and his life through their eyes. A simple and an honest portrayal of a man obsessed with photography and integrates his upbringing, Indianness with the Arab culture. This film copy was also sent to United Nations in 2003 as well.
