Cioma Schönhaus talks about his life during wartime Berlin. While in the underground, he forged passports for other Jews, thus enabling their escape. Musical accompaniment in the film is provided by his two sons, Sascha and David Schönhaus. With their klezmer band, Baith Jaffe, they uphold the Jewish heritage which their father has abandoned.
