Synopsis:
The main character of the movie Viktor Ambalov is the habitant of the mountain village Ursdon, Northern Ossetia. Forty years ago, there were more than 500 houses, and now there are only three left. The name "Ursdon" means "The White River". Viktor lives in very tough conditions, his way of life is humble: he sleeps in a ground-level of his big two-story house, together with just-kittened sheep and lambs. His food are only milk and bread. There are no comforts, only cold water from the barrel instead of a bath. Every morning he leaves for the mountains to herd sheep and comes back only late in the evening. Viktor Ambalov is 80 years old, but you never can figure it out if you look at him. There are no women in Ursdon. Only four men live there. They would tell you about Viktor's strange nature.
