The Nature of Existence| 1hr : 33mins
Director: Roger Nygard | Producer: Roger Nygard, Paul Tarantino
Focus Years: 2010 | Country: United States
Synopsis:
What if you asked religious experts, gurus, scientists, and everyday people why we exist? Why are we here, and what are we supposed to do about it? What started the Universe, and was it a mistake? Does God exist, and why does he seem so interested in our sex lives?
After exploring the phenomenon of Trekkies, filmmaker Roger Nygard took on The Nature of Existence, roaming the globe to the source of the world’s philosophies, religions, and belief systems, interviewing people who have influenced, inspired, or freaked out humanity.
The film is a humorous and an uplifting journey, presenting challenging ideas and extraordinary people, such as Sri Ravi Shankar, evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, 24th Generation Taoist Master Zhang Chengda, physicist Leonard Susskind (co-discoverer of string theory), Christian wrestler Rob Adonis, evangelist Brother Jed Smock, Orson Scott Card (Ender’s Game), Irvin Kershner (Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back).
