Synopsis:
Since the catastrophe on March 11th 2011, Japan has been experiencing sociopolitical tremors of historical significance. The political interest is growing and protest is forming, although street demonstrations are a rare sight. There have been no major demonstrations since the 1970s. That's why it's surprising that in April, an anti-nuclear demonstration gathered more than 10,000 protesters in Koenji, Tokyo. This is the first big demonstration in decades, and more should follow. The documentary "Radioactivists" explores Japanese protest culture under the effects of Fukushima and illuminates the backgrounds of the current movements and critical voices, which keep getting louder everywhere.
