Fridus Steijlen

I'm a researcher at the Royal Netherlands Institute for Souteast Asian and Caribbean Studies (KITLV) in Leiden, the Netherlands (a KNAW-institute). We are involved in this amazing project Recording the Future (RtF). The project aims to record daily life in Indonesia at 8 locations and repeat this recording every 4 years. So in the end we can see how daily life, the things we tend to forget if we don't capture them now, changes. The RtF-project is a cooperation with LIPI, the Indonesian Institute of Sciences and Off Stream Independent Filmmakers in Jakarta. We started in 2003. The film at this festival (Don't forget to remember me) is made from the recordings of the first 4 years of the RtF project.
