Synopsis:
Cancer is a leading cause of death, responsible for about 13% of all deaths globally. In the developed world it claims the life of about one in four people. According to the World Health Organisation this figure will rise to one in three by 2020. So most of us, if not all of us, know someone close to us that has died from cancer. Marcus Lovett's mother died from the next wave of asbestos related cancer sufferers, the DIY generation. Marcus goes in search of what killed his mother, and in doing so looks for the secrets of a long and healthy life. Marcus discovers that diet and exercise alone are not going to save your life. If not everyone who is exposed to carcinogens dies, then there must be something else? This is not a witch-hunt or a miracle cure story, it's not a heavy story, but there are moments that may bring a tear. It's not a light fluffy story either, but there are moments that will make you giggle. It's a personal story that anyone that has lost someone to cancer, or any illness, will relate.
