"She Paid the Ultimate Price" is a feature documentary that chronicles a journey of discovery, undertaken by Iryna Korpan, to uncover the tragic fate of her grandmother in western Ukraine during the Holocaust, and the true story of the events leading to the death of this heroic woman, Kateryna Sikorska. The film takes us from Canada to Ukraine and Israel as it follows Iryna's journey into the past where she learns specific details of her grandmother's heroic past. The story expands to include similar heroic acts by other Ukrainians, most notably those of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky.This film is an inspiring, emotional, yet candid look at the Nazi occupation of Eastern Europe and how people on both sides experienced it.
